Scrubbers work better with Evolution's help

Incinerators are now working more efficiently thanks to powders carefully processed by Evolution, the Winsford based specialist powder processing company.

Two thirds of the cost of an incinerator is the scrubber, the system which extracts the pollutants in the exhaust gases. Amongst the processes the scrubber uses are powders to chemically capture certain pollutants so they can be disposed of safely. These powders are processed to meet a carefully defined specification so that there is virtually a 100 per cent success rate.

One of Evolution's clients is Brunner Mond, a leading UK-based chemicals manufacturer and a major supplier of powders for scrubbers.

For the chemical reaction between the pollutant and the powder to be quick and effective the powder has to be processed to an exact specification. "Brunner Mond's manufacturing and service staff have the very high level of expertise required to produce this powder which has a very short time in the scrubber to capture the target pollutant and so meet the environmental safety standards." explained Paul Holdcroft, Reflec's European Managing Director, adding, "The skills of Evolution's work force are making their contribution in minimising atmospheric pollution in a market place which demands stringent standards."
